TURNUS is live!

Note: Schedule is probably changing to Tues/Thur. More info on that, later.
TURNUS launchdate - Thursday 15th May
Good news, everyone! TURNUS, the brand spanking new Rooms spin-off, is bursting onto computer screens on Thursday the 15th. The finishing touches are just being put in place, for the website, and it'll be all systems go sooner than you can say "Eveneyecan'tprounouncemyname"(Ed. OMG - Spoilers!).
So, check back on the 15th for the link to the new site and the start of a brand new chapter in the Psycheverse saga. We'll be updating twice a week on a highly unorthodox Thurs/Sun schedule and hope you'll be along for the ride.
Jump Leads issue #3 (the one I've written) should also be starting the same week - on the 16th - so fun times, all round! :)
TURNUS bursts back on to computer screens, with new comic from Euan Mumford and philby4000
How does a hapless university drop-out go on to become a special agent working for a top secret government organisation? That's the question the new comic from Euan "Mad" Mumford and philby4000 seeks to answer as readers are taken on a strange journey into a world where aliens are very real and adventure lies ten years or so in the past.
TURNUS follows the continuing adventures of the popular character from Rooms who served as Chex's flatmate during his first year at Uni. With art being provided by the legendary philby4000 (DeviantArt
) and writing by Rooms creator, Euan Mumford, TURNUS is a chaotic sci-fi comedy webcomic set to update twice-weekly on a computer near you, soon.
Further news on this exciting collaborative project and a teaser site will materialise in the coming weeks.
So, there's an announcement coming next Monday but first you've got some homework to do. Read/re-read the following, go! -

Have fun! :)
More new comic info for intrigued artists...
Hi all. If you've been putting off volunteering for the artist role on my new comic, due to my vagueness regarding what the comic will actually be about, then put off no longer! The basic synopsis is below (Note: I won't go in to masses of detail so as not to spoil it for those of you who don't want to volunteer)
The new comic will revolve around a female character called Aje who has inadvertantly travelled back in time from the future to modern day Psych. Once there, she finds that, far from being at an advantage as a result of being from the future, she is actually clueless about most things that we take for granted (like how to open a door that doesn't open itself for you) and must struggle to come to terms with her new surroundings.
Of course, there's a lot more to it than that but I hope that's enough to give you a vague sense of what the comic will be about. Also, it's set in the Psycheverse so expect some Rooms characters to pop up occasionally (not too often though, this is a new comic and not a continuation of Rooms). Interested artists should send examples of their work to me, by clicking on my name above or the contact button, to the left. Thanks!
Also, this is kind of a shot in the dark as I don't think it's been done before but if anyone would like to become the official musician for the new comic then I thought we could have a downloadable music track, per storyline, to provide a kind of sountrack to the comic. Anyway, if this idea interests you at all, let me know. Just because you can't draw doesn't mean you can't help with the comic.
Update: Rooms ends, the search for an artist continues!
After much consideration, I've decided to change my original decision, to put Rooms on hiatus until an artist can be found, and am instead ending the comic. The reason for this is that I want to pay Rooms the proper respect it deserves and thus it makes sense to end it now when the majority of the characters have had their stories satisfactorily resolved and with a proper three years of archives online, charting Chex and co's journey from freshers to graduates.
So does this mean that I'm not looking for an artist, anymore? Not in the least. While Rooms may be over, I intend to start a new comic that will take place in the same universe. This new strip will, of course, feature a brand new cast (although the occasional classic character from Rooms may join at a later date). What their story is, I've yet to finalise, but I'll still need your help in order to tell it.
So, if you want to draw the artwork for a brand new comic set within the Psycheverse, send me an e-mail with some samples of your art and if I think it matches my style of writing, I'll let you know.

Rooms: Why it needs an artist
I don't know if this is the right time for this but sadly it's not something that can be avoided any longer. If you're new to the strip, please have a look through the archives - you'll see there's a sizeable chunk of content there for you to enjoy. For everyone else, here's the situation...
When I first thought of Rooms, I never intended to draw it. It was always my plan to do the writing while another more artistic individual would do the art. As you know, this is how it initially began - with inspiration providing the artwork.
Sadly, this collaboration was cut short and so I was forced to look for an artist once again. When I was unable to find one, after a number of months of searching, it was then - and only then - that I decided to take matters into my own hands and draw the strip myself.
At the time, I encouraged myself with the thought that my art would improve and that many popular webcomics had shakey artistic beginnings. Even despite this, drawing Rooms has never been easy and I have often found myself limiting the action in the strip, as a result of my insufficient ability to draw the scenarios that I've imagined in my head.
I have continued to deliver the strip three times a week, almost without fail, for every week since I began drawing it but enough is enough. If Rooms is ever to develop, as I have tried to develop it in recent storylines, it needs a strong artist as much as it needs a strong writer. And that is why, with a heavy heart, I have decided to put Rooms on hiatus until I can find an individual who can fulfill this role.
If you think you fit the bill and can deliver regular comics, every week, then have a go at drawing the above strip. It's the last strip for the Summer and I have a ton of storyline ideas for the Autumn but if Rooms' Autumn is ever going to come, I need you to help make it happen! Draw the comic however you want - have the characters sitting, standing, jogging, sitting by a stream. Whatever you think is appropriate. Just let your artistic juices run riot and show me what you've got.
Alternatively, if you just want to have a go at sketching a couple of the characters first, do that! Send me what you've done and I'll let you know if I think your style fits Rooms'.
To e-mail me, click my name above or the Contact button. Please note: If you think you'll only be able to deliver two strips a week, still contact me. While I'd prefer three, I don't mind cutting it back to two if needs be.
Ten years of Nifty darn Sluggy!
Sluggy Freelance, my favourite webcomic of all time and a big inspiration to Rooms, has reached its tenth anniversary! I think you'll all agree that that's an incredible achievement and, if you haven't already (what are you, nuts?), you should definately go read through the whole ten year archive. I'm not kidding, GO READ!
Sorry. I'm feeling a bit run down and can't think straight so there's not going to be a Wednesday strip at all. I'll see if I can get a strip up over the weekend to make up for it, but I can't promise anything. So yeah... Gah!
Just a quick heads up that the Wednesday strip will be a bit late. Sorry about that.
